Are Ziton ZP720 heat detectors compatible with my ZP3 panel?

Not only am I going to answer the question, ‘are Ziton ZP720 heat detectors compatible with my ZP3 panel’, but also advise on alternatives.

Ziton ZP20-3P heat devices

First of all you, all new ZP720 heat devices are only compatible with software version 3 ZP3 panels.  They are NOT compatible with software version 1 (e.g. 1.31) or software version 2 (e.g. 2.09) ZP3 panels.

New ZP720 detectors have -3P at the end of their reference.  So they look like this ZP720-3P.  Check out the heat detectors at fire4u.co.uk

How to find out the software version of a Ziton ZP3 Panel

First find out the software version of your Ziton ZP3 panel:

• Press the menu key on the keypad
• Enter ‘Operator’ by pressing number 1
• If prompted, enter the code (default code is 2000) and press enter
• Enter ‘Reports To Display’ by pressing number 2
• Enter ‘Software Version’ by pressing number 2

What can you do if your ZP3 panel is not compatible?

If you have a software version 2 panel (e.g. 2.09) then the easiest solution is to purchase a ZX832 multisensor.  These intelligent devices can be programmed to be what you want them to be with a total of 27 profiles.

Ziton ZP3 Training

Ziton ZP3 systems can be daunting to maintain with no training or experience.  That is why fire4u.co.uk offer a one day basic Ziton ZP3 training course.

This can either take place at the Ziton training centre in Milton Keynes, or we will travel to your place of work.

The training has been designed for maintenance and small works on a ZP3 system, as well as training on how to use the Planner software on a laptop.
